Great North Run 5K

8th September 

Runners start on the Newcastle side of the River Tyne and follow a scenic route over two of the Quayside’s 7 bridges; the Swing Bridge and the Gateshead Millennium Bridge.

20th October 

Every year, 1,000 runners kick off the biggest weekend of running in the South with the Simplyhealth Great South 5k. The shorter running route starts on Clarence Esplanade in Southsea and is perfect for those who are new to running.

Bangor 10K

6th September 

This race starts and finishes in the city centre and goes out to the coastline, in to the magnificent Penrhyn Castle Estate then back to and along the Garth Pier over the Menai Straits, taking in views of Anglesey, Snowdonia and the surrounding North Wales coastline, then back to the finish in the city centre.

The North East’s biggest 10k sees over 5,000 people take on a scenic route along the NewcastleGateshead Quayside and cross the finish line inside the famous Gateshead International Stadium. It’s the perfect training run for the world’s biggest half marathon, the Simplyhealth Great North Run.
