The long ride home…

Best of luck to John Scrivens, who will be cycling a whopping 130 miles from Swansea back to his home in Cheltenham, on 16th June. John says:

“I was challenged a few weeks ago to a long day of cycling, from Swansea home to Cheltenham on June 16th, a distance I’m told of about 130 miles (rather a lot of kms). Gotta think things could get a little uncomfortable, with any luck not too early in the day!

To assist in keeping my focus on the day, I have asked my wonderful sister Kate to choose a charity for whom I hope we can raise a good deal of money……

Kate (I still think of her as my kid sister at 30 years old), was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last year. Her courage since getting this crushing blow, & during treatment has humbled me & it is so typical of her want to help others in a similar predicament.

Kate has asked that money raised go to the NET (neuro-endocrine-tumour) Patient Foundation who are active in raising awareness of this rare but increasingly diagnosed form of cancer, promoting research & providing support for sufferers.”
